2006/7 Season Highlights:
- We had 45 children registered from all over the greater Rochester area.
- We survived a snow-less early season by hiking with poles, running, Biathlon and Orienteering. The kids (and parents) still had a blast and built a good base of fitness.
- Once snow came, we had great weekly participation and managed to squeeze in just enough instruction to assure all the children progressed to their best abilities. The three-level program (Bobcats, Sno-Leopards and Cheetahs) and weekday after-school sessions started with some success but room to grow.
- We did more organized activities than in past years…which seemed to work well as everyone knew what to expect…but the activities were still flexible enough to adjust to the snow and weather conditions. Thanks must go out to the Rochester Orienteering Club and Western NY Biathlon for program assistance.
- Our skiers were very prominent at the Mid Atlantic BK Championships in Old Forge, with the largest team and some great results.
- The Club Championship distance and sprint races at Harriet Spencer and the inaugural End-of-Season Banquet at MPP were both well attended and enjoyed by all.
