RXCSF Affiliated Organizations

In addition to our new RXCSF functions related to Trails, Events, Racing and Education, we are also acting to promote and coordinate the XC Skiing organizations already in existence in the greater Rochester area. Each of our affiliated organizations have a seat on the RXCSF Board of Directors to assure that RXCSF meets the needs of the entire XC Skiing public.

The Rochester Nordic Ski Club was founded in 1978 to promote XC Skiing and provide social activities related to XC Skiing. The club currently focuses on monthly social meetings, ski tours and trips, lessons, and manages the Monroe County Parks Annual Winterfest at MPP. Western NY Biathlon Club

The Western NY Biathlon Club serves the Rochester and Buffalo areas from it’s home base at the Rochester Brooks Gun Club in Rush NY. It serves to introduce the sport of Biathlon to aspiring XC Skiers (and others), assuring safe practice and competitions, and also serves the needs of more accomplished Biathletes. The Rochester Orienteering Club sponsors local Ski Orienteering events – also known as Ski-O. Ski-O is very similar to traditional foot orienteering, with the primary difference being…you guessed it…it is done on XC Skis! The sports of Orienteering and Ski-O are currently growing fast so be on the lookout for people training on the courses at MPP. Monroe County League High School Racing

Ski racing at the high school level has been a staple of Rochester sports for years, having graduated countless XC Skiers including numerous Olympic-class athletes. The league is still going strong, with 8 schools currently sporting varsity teams.
